GUIDING PRINCIPLES
The Black Conservative Federation seeks to define and promote conservatism in a way that demystifies many of the common misconceptions associated with the political and social philosophy. The guiding principles we have listed below align with the practices that our organization embodies – they include an undying dedication to individual freedom for all citizens, free and fair enterprise, limited government control, and traditional American values. The Black Conservative Federation does not steer away from these principles, and the views of our organization are not influenced by donations or external political pressure.
1.
Society consists of a collective group of closely connected individuals that are interdependent of one another, as opposed to an unconnected group of individuals.
2.
The most fundamental element of a civil society is the family, and traditional family structures serve as a catalyst for future success.
3.
Individuals, families, and communities make the best decisions regarding their own wellbeing - not the government.
4.
The government is the servant of the people, and not the master. Politicians and government officials should, therefore, refrain from inserting personal or political bias and interpret and enforce laws as defined.
5.
Free enterprise is the best system to support economic growth and promotes an individual’s economic freedom, which includes private property rights. The government should not put policies and regulations in place that create unfair or distorted market behavior nor should they block or slow innovation.
6.
The government should only seek to collect taxes that fund the minimum amount required to effectively operate the functions granted to it in the Constitution and not require citizens to pay more than that amount.
7.
Conservatism seeks to protect, preserve, and improve all things that are good in society.
